Paris Hilton surprised the entire Tonight Show audience with free NFTs during her guesting. As host Jimmy Fallon pointed out, this is the first NFT giveaway on live TV. Clearly, NFTs are ready to make a run for mainstream dominance.
Hilton appeared as a guest on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she spoke about her NFT journey. The highlight of the interview was to promote her first NFT collection with vinyl toy and digital collectibles company SUPERPLASTIC.
She shared that the Collection is entitled “Forever Fairytale,” a collage of memories with her new husband, Carter Reum. She then gifted the first NFT in the Collection to Fallon and additional NFTs to each member of the audience.
Although this is Hilton’s first full Collection, she’s deep into NFTs. In April 2021, Hilton sold her “Iconic Crypto Queen” NFT for $1.1 million. Then, a few days ago, last January 18, Superplastic dropped its “Headtripz” NFT collection, featuring a collaborative piece with Hilton.
Aside from being a creator, she’s also the proud owner of 141 pieces, including a “Bored Ape” and works by Grimes and Steve Aoki.
One thing that no one can accuse Hilton of is that she’s just trying to ride the hype. As early as 2016, she started investing in crypto after becoming friends with the founders of Ethereum. Since then, she’s been one of the biggest advocates of crypto, NFTs and the metaverse.
“Paris World” virtual party debuted on online gaming platform Roblox during New Year’s Eve 2021, where Hilton played a DJ set to a virtual crowd.
Fallon himself is into NFTs. He announced on his show, as part of an interview with Beeple, that he had purchased an Ape. Specifically, BAYC #599, for a whopping $225,000.
