Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell has announced he will invest in three popular altcoins, including the dog meme-based cryptocurrency Shiba Inu ($SHIB).
Liddell, a former UFC superstar who has been dabbling in cryptoassets, published a Twitter poll last week asking community members to choose between three altcoins: Dogecoin ($DOGE), Shiba Inu ($SHIB) and SafeMoon ($SAFEMOON).
After tallying more than 180,000 votes, Safemoon led the poll with 43.8%, followed by Shiba Inu at 30.6%, and Dogecoin in third place at 25.5%.
I'm curious who will win this. Which #cryptocommunity is the strongest! between these 3. @dogecoin @safemoon @Shibtoken #dogecoin #shiba #SAFEMOON— Chuck Liddell 🥶 (@ChuckLiddell) January 4, 2022
In a subsequent tweet, Liddell thanked the crypto community for participating in the poll. He announced his decision to invest “money and diversify” between all three altcoins in the percentage of votes that they received.
While Liddell did not disclose the amount he would be investing, he did say his decision was persuaded by the community’s “enthusiasm” towards the voting process.
Thank you to all who showed up for these 3 #Crypto coins in my poll. I have made a decision to take a set amount of money and diversify between all 3 coins the percentages of votes they received in the poll due to everyone's ENTHUSIASM. 🤙🥶#LFG #safemoon #shiba #dogecoin— Chuck Liddell 🥶 (@ChuckLiddell) January 6, 2022
The former UFC champion had previously announced his growing interest in cryptoassets with a series of tweets in November, including asking community members to help him understand the differences between dog meme cryotoassets $DOGE and $SHIB.
Liddell joins a growing list of current and former MMA fighters who have taken an interest in cryptoassets, including Ben Askren and Eddie Alvarez.
